Remembering Doug Baird
Doug was a military veteran, gifted storyteller, professional Santa, mentor, and community leader who cherished family and friendship.
For more than two decades, Doug brought an authentic Santa experience to homes, businesses, restaurants, child-care centers, nursing homes, and public events. His collection of more than 70 books allowed him to share the season through stories with audiences of every age.
He graduated from the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School in 2006 and earned a PhD from the International University of Santa Claus. His commitment to learning matched his willingness to help others grow.
Doug was a founding member and past president of Buckeye Santas and also served the Palmetto Santas, Long Leaf Santas, and International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas communities.
His warmth, work ethic, and dedication to the craft earned Ohio Santas’ Santa Emeritus recognition and continue to inspire those who knew him.
