In loving memory of Doug Baird, we celebrate the life and legacy of a cherished individual who graced our lives with the pure spirit of Santa Claus. Doug, who passed away on December 19th, leaves behind a legacy that resonates with warmth, joy, and the true essence of Christmas.
For over two decades, Doug portrayed Santa Claus with an authenticity that was truly enchanting. His snowy-white beard, jolly belly, and the iconic red suit brought smiles to countless faces at various gatherings. From private homes to corporate events, restaurants, day care centers, nursing homes, and public occasions, Doug's portrayal of Santa exuded kindness and cheer.
One of his most treasured gifts was the collection of stories he shared with audiences of all ages. With over 70 books that he would lovingly read, Doug captured the hearts of many, spreading the magic of Christmas through timeless tales.
Doug's commitment to portraying Santa Claus was unwavering. He graduated from the esteemed Charles W Howard Santa School in 2006 and pursued a PHD degree from the International University of Santa Claus, demonstrating his dedication to embodying the spirit of St. Nicholas.
A pillar of the Santa community, Doug's contributions were significant. As a founding member and past president of Buckeye Santas, he played an instrumental role in fostering camaraderie and spreading joy. He was also an esteemed member of Palmetto Santas, Long Leaf Santas, and the International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas (IBRBS).
Though Doug may no longer be with us, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched. His commitment to spreading happiness and embodying the magic of Christmas will forever be remembered and cherished.
